    GET SCHOOLED: Acrylic Painting
    Thursday, Sept 10 · 1–4 PM · $60
    Still life in acrylic: you, an easel, and brush in hand. Instructor Nicholas Waguespack keeps it hands-on. Haven’t held a brush since eighth grade? — You are especially welcome. Everything’s provided.

  • Live Figure Drawing Wednesday 9/16 6:30- 9:30pm

    Every good figure drawing starts with gesture — the fast, loose lines that capture how a pose moves. Draw from a live model all evening, building quick sketches into finished drawings, with artist Jordan Maier guiding start to finish. All levels welcome. BYO supplies: charcoal or pencils, 18×24 newsprint pad, board if you have one.

    In this three-hour workshop, students mix their way through color theory. Learn how color relationships shape a painting’s mood. Then: postcard-sized studies — analogous, complementary, tint, shade, saturation. Small studies mean freedom to experiment. Leave mixing and choosing color with confidence.

    6311arts presents “Portrait Mode,” an exhibition about people — a range of mediums and styles including painting, photography, video, and sculpture. Brian Eaton will be featured in our East and West galleries with “Trying to Keep It All Together.” The shows open Saturday, August 29 with a reception from 6–9 PM and runs through October 17. Free and open to all.
