Wormy Maple Bowl with Black Resin

Artist Name: Michael Johnson

Medium: Hand-turned from Maple, this 15-1/4-inch bowl showcases the captivating beauty of wood in motion. Flowing worm lines filled with black resin trace organic paths across the surface, intertwining with waves of brown and cream tones flowing with some natural spalting. The colors shift and blend seamlessly, while the edge reveals a striking end-grain figure that anchors the composition. Finished with a hard oil wax, the surface glows with quiet depth and balance.

A bold statement of harmony between nature’s imperfection and refined craftsmanship – expressive, fluid, and timeless.
