GET SCHOOLED: Acrylic Painting with Nicholas Waguespack — Still Life

In this three-hour workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of painting a still life using acrylic paint. Working from a shared still life arrangement, students will explore composition, observation, color mixing, value, and brushwork while developing their own individual painting.

The workshop will balance demonstrations with hands-on painting time. Students will be encouraged to focus on looking closely, making decisions about color and value, and responding to the materials rather than trying to create a perfectly realistic reproduction.

Everything's provided — paint, brushes, canvas — or bring your own supplies.
